SUSTAINABILITY

Setting new standards for sustainability

One Bridgeland Green is all about enhancing the human experience and improving the community.

It’s about using natural materials and connecting people to nature. It’s about being an example of sustainable, renewable, intelligent design in practice. It’s about showing the way to the future, today.

Healthy and humane

Give people ways to live better, and they’ll go right ahead and do it. This building inspires people to get on their bikes by connecting them to the Bridgeland trail system and providing onsite bicycle storage and showering facilities. And for those who still need to drive, charging stations in the parking lot support the switch to electric vehicles. It all helps freshen the air, which everyone gets to enjoy in the seating areas and covered porches found throughout the premises.

Clean and efficient

One Bridgeland Green has significantly reduced levels of embodied carbon due to its mass timber and low-carbon concrete construction. These low-emitting materials combine with indoor air quality monitoring to create clean, healthy interior spaces for everyone. Water consumption is less than half typical levels thanks to low-use plumbing fixtures, clever plant selections and reclaimed water from a rainwater cistern. Smart building design maximizes light and minimizes heat and glare. And overhead, the Texan sun powers the premises via a rooftop solar panel array.
